In memoriam....

Gianfranco was a pioneer on his field, and a forceful ambassador of the Italian culture in the United States. His passion for the authenticity of ingredients, the simplicity of the Italian cuisine and for attentive service was present at every time a patron would enter the door. He was a wonderful mentor to a generation of younger restauranteurs, and his legacy will live forever. Originally from Naples, Italy, Gianfranco Sorrentino carried over 45 years of experience in restaurant management, some of these include Quisitana Hotel in Capri, Dorchester Hotel in London, Four Seasons Hotel in Tokyo, Bice Restaurant in New York, Sette MoMA Restaurant at The Museum of Modern Art of New York and Union Bar and Grill in Great Barrington, MA. Together, with his wife Paula Bolla-Sorrentino and their partner chef Vito Gnazzo, they founded Il Gattopardo Group in New York City - Il Gattopardo Restaurant, Il Gattopardo Catering, Leopard at Des Artistes and Mozzarella & Vino.
